bailout plan:
bunnynico:
Pass emergency bill legalizing marijuana in the interests of public health and safety so the American public can chill out while they watch the U.S. crash & burn
Democrats, contact Paul Krugman ASAP to devise an alternate economic rescue proposal
Love is all a matter of timing. It’s no good meeting the right person too soon...

Today, I ate a rock band.
On guitar: Chicken. Bass: Marinara sauce. Drums? You guessed it, the flat pressed bread that could only be the work of a Duke Panini. Lead singer? More marinara sauce. On side, for dipping purposes. Imagine my surprise, close-follower of stocks and markets, shrewd investor as I am (like Warren Buffet only I can still get it...

I was fascinated by the article in the new yorker about babar and the imperialist textual readings that have been done recently. The Morgan library is having an exhibit of Jean de Brunhoff’s original drawings and hopefully I’ll be able to go on Saturday.
My mother was interviewed by the New School’s president, former Nebraska gov and senator, Bob Kerrey, this evening. I unfortunately missed the talk since I had class, but I was able to attend the dinner afterwards which proved to be a quite remarkable affair.
Let me preface with a brief history of the New School, an insitute where I am a masters student in media studies. The graduate...
Why Make Movies?
bendickinson:
In cinema we have the unique opportunity to communicate through FILMSPACE, a kind of illusion specific to the moving image that can simultaneously suggest objective reality and subjective reality in a potentially transcendent gestalt.
In traditional Hollywood cinema, we see the reliance on suspension of disbelief, the premise that we are watching an objective reality with the...

there is so much to learn, to experience, to achieve… it isn’t that i feel overwhelmed by all that i’ve taken on over the past few months, rather i find every day to be more inspiring than the next. i wrote to a friend earlier that i am like a sponge; i soak up experiences, relationships, emotions, literature, films, discussions…i savor all of these because this is what it...
