“From an opening scene that looks, intriguingly enough, like a Billy Idol video shot by Antonioni, “The Informers” moves through a few rounds of passionless coupling and passive-aggressive conversation, never provoking a reaction more intense than mild irritation or moderate boredom.”

I received this email in response to an artist statement I wrote for the film that I’m making this summer. Too funny.
(this came from someone at the email address hipsterdouchebags@gmail.com)
Hannah, Are you serious with this film concept? Do you realize how pretentious and inane you sound? Even the best directors in the world who are widely regarded never mumble off this tripe. Do you really think Einstein went into work in the morning and told everyone how he was going to revolutionize physics and go on insipidly about himself? Hint: NO. Give yourself more credit than that. You are a smart person, but to go and rattle off and name drop directors and live in Williamsburgh is completely degrading to you as a person. Typecast yourself much? Please, instead of being like director A or B or like hipster friend number 1 or 2, try being truly original, which takes no words to do. A fan hoping for something “more,” Anonymous.
will someone please buy me this so that I can be organized. thank you.
